The final phase of the Technical Alpha involved an account-wide wipe of all accounts, where all player and hero progression made, gold earned, and shop purchases were reset and all real money spent was refunded as Battle.net balance. This also meant that the server shut down over the period, in order to transition to production hardware. During this time Heroes of the Storm was unavailable for play.
